About Sandy Collier
Welcome to my web site of watercolors and photographs! I have always loved art. After 4 years of art in high school and lessons at the local art museum, I packed my brushes away for a long time, for a 35 year career as an RN. Watercolor has been on my wish-list to study, for many years. After retirement, I took lessons from 4 wonderful watercolor artists. The medium has such surprising possibilities. You never know what fascination will happen when your brush touches the paper. It takes thought. Currently I am involved with 2 studio groups and attend workshops when I can. As a child, I was always interested in art, nature, and taking photographs. I had the privilege of taking a Master Gardener course 20 years ago. My love for gardens and flowers has been the inspiration for many of my paintings. I was introduced to photography at an early age by my Grandmother, and have taken hundreds of photos, many being of plants from our garden. Everyone tells me I am a colorist! Color adds beauty to the world. Some days we need this beauty more then others, in this trying environment. I hope my paintings bring peace, joy, happiness, and a smile, to all who view! My husband and I live in North Carolina now, but are originally from Ohio, and have two married sons. If you are interested in purchasing any of my original watercolors, please feel free to contact me to see if they are still available.
